7 Months

We got up early to spend a little time with Daddy before he had to leave for work. Elizabeth was entranced by Daddy's hat. The whole time he was holding her she wanted the hat.

Elizabeth is 7 months old now. She is growing fast.

Do you sleep like this?

Elizabeth will only fall asleep with her favorite blanket covering her face. For some reason she finds great comfort in it. She also has to have at least one foot touching the side of the crib. It doesn't look too comfortable, but if it works, I am happy to let her do it.

Love Bug

I call Elizabeth my Love Bug. She has started to give me kisses. It melts my heart every time.

Mommy's big girl!

Elizabeth has really turned into a little girl in the past week. She sqirms and wiggles to get what she wants, she can wave, and babbles all the time. She is not my cuddly baby anymore. Another week and she will probably be crawling.

Picnic on Mt Lemon

We decided to take a little scenic drive on Saturday to explore Mt. Lemon. It was a really fun day. It was at least 110 at home, and only 78 when we reached the top of the mountain. It was definitely a nice break from being inside all the time. Elizabeth was interested in the pine trees and running water.



This is a picture from one of the viewpoints looking down on the Tucson valley. It was pretty hazy. On a clear day I am sure you could see all the way to the mountains to the south. As you can see, Elizabeth was a great traveler.



We also had a nice visit with my Uncle Bob and Aunt Valerie who live in Tucson. It was really good to see them.

Sitting

My new development for the week is sitting by myself. My Mom and Dad are so proud of me. They make some pretty silly cheering noises when I do it. I even managed to sit up long enough for Mommy to take some pictures this morning.

AFV

Daddy's favorite past time is watching America's Funniest Home Videos on Sunday evenings. Tonight Elizabeth is just chillin watching AFV with Dad...and being so cute doing it.

High Chair

Since Elizabeth has moved onto solids it has become very apparent that a high chair is needed. She is a very messy eater. This morning we drove into town and found one for the right price. Once we got home, Daddy put it together and immediately wanted to test it out. So this picture is before she ate some squash.

On My Tummy

Elizabeth continues to be a good sleeper. When I put her down she immediately rolls to her side, and lately she will roll over on her tummy while sleeping. She is growing so fast!

Sweet Potatoes

Elizabeth is not a big fan of sweet potatoes. Yet again she takes after her dad. Every time I would put a spoonful of sweet potatoes in her mouth she would put her lips together and blow them all over her and me. I think 1/2 of what went in her mouth she ate, and the other half she showered us with.

At her doctor's appointment this week she weighed in at 17 lbs 13 oz. She is very healthy and seems to be content. Every day her motor skills develop. She has learned to get what she wants by kicking and reaching. She also notices each little sound. If something is interesting, she will stop and listen for it. Today she watched me mop the floor, making sure I didn't miss anything.

A Weekend of Painting

We have wanted to paint our white walls for some time. We are really happy with the results. Elizabeth was really good while we were working. At one point we had her in her swing, and she was laughing at us while we were working. Here are a few pictures I took on Saturday.





As you can see, Elizabeth got hungry. So Daddy fed Elizabeth from a spoon for the first time.
