My Love Bug

From the time Elizabeth was first born until now I have called her my Love Bug. She truly is the highlight of our lives. We can't remember life without her. She has such a happy disposition and has always been a good mixture of both of us. From her Daddy she got her cute face and "go" personality. And from her Mom she got her curiousity and patience, or lack there of.

This morning we took her to the doctor for her one year well check. She weighs 20 lbs 6 oz and is 29 inches long. She is strong, lean and healthy. This afternoon Daddy and I watched in wonder as she stood herself up and walked all the way from the entry to the dining room table. It has been a blessing to watch her grow and develop.

Thank you for choosing to come to our family Elizabeth. We love you~

Happy Birthday Elizabeth!

Elizabeth had a great first birthday. We were up in the mountains so she got to sleep in Mommy and Daddy's room in her pack and play. She woke up giggling. When we got home from her trip, Elizabeth was able to open a few presents. Thank you everyone who gave Elizabeth gifts. You are all very generous. Elizabeth wasn't quite sure about the cake, but put on a good show for Mommy and Daddy.

Something New--Chocolate Rivers and Snow

We took a family trip up to the white mountains this week to get away before Daddy starts his new job on Friday. We had a really fun time discovering new things. On the way to Pinetop, AZ we had to cross the salt river. It had rained the day before so the river was at flood stage with what looked like chocolate milk. Elizabeth thought the river looked pretty funny.

By the time we reached the condo we were staying at in Pinetop we were all ready to be out of the car. As soon as we arrived, it started snowing. Elizabeth wasn't quite sure about the white stuff falling from the sky.

The next day Daddy took advantage of a ski hill 20 minutes away to get his yearly fill of snowboarding. He was on cloud nine when he got home. He said it was just like being back in Utah with the 12 inches of fresh powder that had fallen overnight. He even went down his first double black diamond called suicide. Mom and Elizabeth stayed back at the condo to take a nap and enjoy looking at the snow from the window.
When Daddy got home we all went outside to play in the snow. Elizabeth had her first sled ride, and ate 2 snowballs. She was scared of the snow at first, but thought it was fun to play with in the end.
We had a great trip!

Big Girl Bath

Elizabeth has always had her baths in her infant tub. This morning we decided to try her in the bathtub. She did really well, except she was constantly trying to stand up. Dad handled it like a pro.

Look What I Did

Elizabeth's new favorite thing is to climb into the oven drawer. This happened 3 different times today. She can get in easy enough, but has not figured out how to get out. Elizabeth continues to be quite the character.

Standing Up

This is the best picture I have of Elizabeth standing up on her own. She will walk 2-3 steps to reach from one chair to another. She also has been standing up without grabbing onto something to help her. It won't be long before she gains true independence.

A great day for a walk

It was a great day for a walk. It is nice to be outside in January without a coat. I am sure Grandma and Grandpa Johnson are really jealous.

Grandma Spoiled Me

Grandma Olsen found this outfit for me yesterday at the store. The shirt says "cutest thing ever." It has been a fun weekend having her visit.

Volumizing Shampoo

Who knew Johnson and Johnson Baby Shampoo was so volumizing. E is very patient with Daddy during her bath. She will probably be embarrassed about this picture when she is 14.

I looked out the window and what did I see....

E loves going to the window and looking out. I couldn't resist taking a picture of her.

My Afternoon

Uncle Eric has asked what Mommy and I do all day. I don't know what Mommy does, but this is what I did from 2-4 this afternoon. I love getting the baking pans and bowls out of the cabinets, pushing chairs on the tile, and dumping my toys out of my basket.

I'm Stuck

I have been putting the laptop on the counter to use thoughout the day. Whenever I sit down at the computer, Elizabeth plays around the bar stools. Sometimes she gets stuck.

Mommy Fixed My Hair

Elizabeth's hair has been getting in her eyes, so it was time to buy some hair accessories. A friend at church told me to put her in the sink. She loved it.
