Something New--Chocolate Rivers and Snow

We took a family trip up to the white mountains this week to get away before Daddy starts his new job on Friday. We had a really fun time discovering new things. On the way to Pinetop, AZ we had to cross the salt river. It had rained the day before so the river was at flood stage with what looked like chocolate milk. Elizabeth thought the river looked pretty funny.

By the time we reached the condo we were staying at in Pinetop we were all ready to be out of the car. As soon as we arrived, it started snowing. Elizabeth wasn't quite sure about the white stuff falling from the sky.

The next day Daddy took advantage of a ski hill 20 minutes away to get his yearly fill of snowboarding. He was on cloud nine when he got home. He said it was just like being back in Utah with the 12 inches of fresh powder that had fallen overnight. He even went down his first double black diamond called suicide. Mom and Elizabeth stayed back at the condo to take a nap and enjoy looking at the snow from the window.
When Daddy got home we all went outside to play in the snow. Elizabeth had her first sled ride, and ate 2 snowballs. She was scared of the snow at first, but thought it was fun to play with in the end.
We had a great trip!
