Daddy did my hair in a fun updo with shampoo. He loves styling my hair in the bath. This one was especially good. We have a great time together playing in the water. I love bathtime.

Room for Two
Walks as a family have been very important in the last year. Elizabeth does so much better if she can spend a little time out of the house. Daddy does a good job of taking her for walks every chance he gets. We quickly realized last week that a double stroller is necessary. We brought it home yesterday, and even though it was raining, Daddy and E couldn't wait to test it out.

My Chair
Grandma gave me this chair as a Christmas present, but it wasn't finished so Mommy has been a little afraid I would get hurt on it. Grandma spent hours sanding and finishing my chair during her visit. It now sits in the living room so I have my very own place to sit. I love climbing in and out of my chair. Thank you for all your hard work Grandma.

Learning to Talk
Elizabeth is learning to talk. She has been babbling nonstop for a couple of weeks now with an occasional word here and there. On Monday she said her first full sentence for Daddy:
Hi, how are you?
She can also say "hi, Andrew" very clearly. Unfortunately, she cannot say her own name yet.
We are continually impressed at how smart she is. I will tell her it is time for a diaper change, and she will run to the bedroom and wait for me to lift her on the changing table. She will also point to the fridge when she wants a drink, and to the pantry for a snack. She also knows what it means to go for a walk.
While Grandma Johnson was here she worked to teach her about her eyes, nose, mouth, ears and feet. She now can point to those areas when asked. As a mother, I love watching her learn.

Our Kids (plural)
We have such good kids. As a mother I am just bursting with love. Elizabeth loves her brother so much. Every time she walks in the room she checks to see where he is. Last night I asked her if she wanted to give Andrew kisses and she told me yes and gave him 3 kisses on the head.
Andrew did a great job sleeping last night, allowing me to get some much needed rest. He has such a sweet disposition.

My Brother Andrew
After waiting for so long, my brother Andrew finally arrived on Saturday May 10 at 4:45 pm. He weighed 8 lbs 15 oz and is 20 inches long. I love touching his head and talking to him.

Spending time with Grandma and Grandpa Johnson
Elizabeth has loved having Grandma and Grandpa Johnson visit for the week. They have a dog, and she has loved watching her through the window and chasing her in the yard. Mandi has been a very good sport about it.
Elizabeth loves following Grandma around. She gives her string cheese and strawberries. Two of her favorites. Elizabeth has also played more outside while they have been here, and played in the dirt more than once. She isn't quite as sure about Grandpa, but I bet in another 6 months they will be best friends. She is more shy around men in general.
Grandpa calls her Speedy, and Radar. Speedy because she races around the house, and Radar because she will spot anything new in the room within minutes of her arrival. Nothing gets past her.

Still No Brother
My brother is still in Mommy's tummy. She went to the doctor this morning but he still isn't ready to come out. If he doesn't come out by Tuesday, the doctor will induce her and help him come. Grandma and Great Grandma are going to stay and watch me next week while Mommy is in the hospital. I had a great time with Grandma and Grandpa today while Mommy and Daddy were gone. Thank you for watching me.

Building Andrew's dresser
I helped Daddy put together Andrew's dresser. Watching Daddy hammer was my favorite part. Daddy figured he better get it done since Mommy was having steady contractions all night. We thought Andrew would be coming today, but the doctor told Mommy things aren't quite ready yet and sent her home. Andrew likes it in Mommy's tummy too much.
